MARRIAGE

“Amoris Laetitia: The Joy of Love experienced by families is also the joy of the Church.  As the Synod Fathers noted, for all the many signs of crisis in the institution of marriage, “the desire to marry and form a family remains vibrant, especially among young people, and this is an inspiration to the Church.

The Sacrament of Marriage is not a social convention, an empty ritual or merely the outward sign of a commitment.  The sacrament is a gift given for the sanctification and salvation of the spouses…”               (Pope Francis)

MARRIAGE PREPARATION:
For those couples looking to get married either here, in another parish in England, or abroad, we require  A MINIMUM of 6 months notice with regard to Marriage Preparation, and the completion of the necessary formalities.

Please contact the Parish Secretary, if possible, to discuss your requirements, and for further advice.

It is a time for spiritual preparation for the Sacrament, attendance on a Marriage Care course and completion of a number of formalities.

It is the responsibility of the couple to check and fulfil any civil requirements that may be necessary.  This is especially important for weddings taking place overseas.
